A Miracle of Your Love

Adorn in splendor you stand before me,
Your Eucharistic presence,
A great miracle of your love.

I think of your Resurrection garment,
The brightness shines forth like the rays of the sun.

You have invited me here to this place of rest.
Your gift of peace is a kiss to my cheek.
My heart quickens within my chest.

“Love me”, I feel you say. “And love me for those that do not love me,
Witness with your life”.

“Yes Lord, I will”.

I love this time alone with you,
These moments feed the hunger within.

I will take these moments with me and share them with those you send my way.
And, in sharing these moments maybe others will come and spend time with you too.

"The First Friday of each month was designated by our Savior Himself as a day to be
consecrated to honoring His Sacred Heart…. As the object of this devotion is to make our Savior Jesus Christ ardently and perfectly loved, and to make reparation for the outrages offered to Him in the past, as well as for those which he daily receives in the Blessed Eucharist…

Do Your Part and Trust Him To Do The Rest

In the days of the beautiful Esther

You saved Israel by the hand of a woman.
In graceful obedience the young Hadassah came before Ahasuerus, mighty king. 1

Something in his eyes told me he was troubled, that he might be hurting. Yet, something in his demeanor told me that he wasn’t ready to talk about it; not right now. However, a woman knows her own very well and long after he had said goodbye I could still see the look in his eyes.

Heal within him all that is wounded, was my prayer for him.

Later that day, while driving home, the prompting of the Spirit stirred within my heart. “Bring your burdens to me and I will give you rest”, was my invitation from the Lord.

So I went to a nearby church and found the Lord waiting for me, exposed in the most Blessed Sacrament. Kneeling before Him, He welcomed me with the gift of peace. Gratefully, I unburdened my heart  on his behalf and the prayer of Esther came to my mind.

“My Lord, my king, you alone are God. Help me, who am alone and have no help but you” Esther, Chapter C;14

The image of Queen Esther and the thought of her graceful obedience filled my thoughts. Through fasting and prayer she interceded for the salvation of her people Israel. And God in his great mercy heard her cry for help and answered her plea.

As I meditated on this image, I knew the Lord was telling me to go and do the same. Be obedient, do my part and trust him to take care of the rest. I thanked Him for the answer he gave, and prayed for the grace to do His will.

As Esther sought solace for her fear,
So do I seek comfort in these terrible times.
As Esther heard the death-cries of her people,
So do I hear the cries in my own days.
As Esther would have given her life for her people, so would I give mine.
As Esther’s actions empowered her people in their struggle, so would I act………. 2

My God, my rock, my all,
My trust is in you alone.

The Juggler

Her juggling act was superb! The more she practiced the better she got and it seemed as though every week she was adding another ball. As a result, her act was getting bigger and bigger. Practice took up more and more of her time; soon it consumed her.

She began to get cranky, a sign of fatigue. The simple things she loved to do, well, there just wasn’t time to do them. Depression was becoming a frequent companion. Happiness had lost itself along the way.

Driving home one night, after another long day of juggling, she drove by a church and decided to go in. As she entered she blessed herself with holy water, noticing how quite everything was, and she took a seat up front close to the tabernacle.

It took a minute or two for her to settle herself down; she was so use to juggling. As she relaxed, many thoughts, memories and people came into her mind. Soon, she began to talking to God in a way she hadn’t done in quite some time and wondered why it had taken her so long to come here.

When she was done she sat there before Him, silently and peacefully. When it was time for her to go, she thanked Him for listening to her and for being there. She felt so refreshed and wondered if she would continue to juggle as much as she had before.

"Take time to be aware that in the very midst of our busy preparations for the celebration of Christ’s birth in ancient Bethlehem, Christ is reborn in the Bethlehems of our homes and daily lives. Take time, slow down, be still, be awake to the Divine Mystery that looks so common and so ordinary yet is wondrously present.Edward Hays, A Pilgrim’s Almanac, p. 196

"Dear children! I call you to work on your personal conversion. You are still far from meeting with God in your heart. Therefore, spend all the more time in prayer and Adoration of Jesus in the Most Blessed Sacrament of the Altar, for Him to change you and to put into your hearts a living faith and a desire for eternal life. Everything is passing, little children, only God is not passing. I am with you and I encourage you with love. Thank you for having responded to my call." BVM Message of March 25, 2008
