Our Lady of Mt. Carmel

The Feast of Our Lady of Mt. Carmel speaks of profound dedication or consecration to the loving hearts of Jesus and Mary, as Carmelite religious have done for centuries. This is an act of love that links us to them forever. Medjugorje Day by Day, Richard J. Beyer

"Dear children! My invitation that you live the messages which I am giving you is a daily one, specially, little children, because I want to draw you closer to the Heart of Jesus. Therefore, little children, I am inviting you today to the prayer of consecration to Jesus, my dear Son, so that each of you may be His. And then I am inviting you to the consecration of my Immaculate Heart. I want you to consecrate yourselves as parents, as families and as parishioners so that all belong to God through my heart. Therefore, little children, pray that you comprehend the greatness of this message which I am giving you. I do not want anything for myself, rather all for the salvation of your soul. Satan is strong and therefore, you, little children, by constant prayer, press tightly against my motherly heart. Thank you for having responded to my call." BVM Oct. 25, 1988

Oh Holy Mother Mary, perfect model of prayer and contemplation, model of virtue, mother of us all,

Thank you for giving the Brown Scapular to St. Simon Stock as a sign of our consecration and
devotion to your Immaculate Heart. I renew my consecration to you and to the Sacred Heart of your beloved Son this day. Help me to grow closer to your hearts, minute by minute, hour by hour and day by day through all eternity. In Jesus name I pray, Amen

Now as never before we must consecrate our families, nation and selves to the Sacred Heart of Jesus and Immaculate Heart of Mary. We must "pray, pray, pray"

Thanks for posting this video. I did not know that Pope John Paul II asked doctors not to remove his scapular after he had been shot. I feel blessed to have learned this, thanks so much!

I heard the most lovely homily on the Feast of Our Lady of Mount Carmel from our transitional deacon. He said that when Pope John Paul II was shot in 1981 and taken to the hospital for surgery, he refused to allow them to remove his scapular. Isn't that beautiful?

How timely - I was just reading an article about Mt Carmel before I came to your post.

Thanks for the reminder!

God Bless, and as the first comment states ... "pray, pray, pray!"

Thank you for this. I am starting to learn more about the Carmelites as I have been invited to explore the possibility of joining the third order.

(BTW, if you are looking for my Blest Atheis blog, it went down. I replaced it with a new blog,100th Lamb, that will contain all the old BA posts and new posts of like ilk. I explain there what happened.)

PS. I should probably give you the URL; otherwise, you will have to track it down through blogger: www.emahlou.blogspot.com.

Hello Daily Grace
Thank you for posting this beautiful video. It is a good reminder to people of the sometimes forgotten devotions of our youth. They are needed now as much as ever.

I did not know that J P II had requested that his scapular not be removed. He was such a man of faith and we were so blessed to have him as our Holy Father for so long. I will never forget the day in 1982 when he came to Cardiff. The joy of that day still lingers in my mind and heart.

Thanks again for this post and God bles you.
