Prayer Refreshes the Soul

Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Matthew 11:28

Each moment of prayer is like a drop of dew in the morning which refreshes each flower, each blade of grass, the whole earth.

In the same way, prayer refreshes man. Just as he must rest when tired, seek peace when troubled, so he must pray and listen to the Spirit of God to renew himself.

How beautiful the scenery is when we look at nature in the morning, in all its freshness! But how much more beautiful is someone who conveys peace, love, and happiness to others. Children, if only you knew what prayer does to the human beings, especially prayer from the heart! In this way, you can become a beautiful, fresh flower for God. See how long the drops of dew linger on the flowers before the first rays of sunlight.

In this way, nature is refreshed and renewed. For nature to remain beautiful, it requires a daily renewal and refreshment. In the same way, prayer refreshes man, renewing and strengthening him. Because temptations afflict him again and again, weakening him, he must pray so as to be renewed and empowered to love. Therefore, pray and rejoice in the refreshment God gives you! Oh Lord, refresh my soul that I may share your word, your love, your grace with all you send my way this day. In your Holy name I pray.~Amen

It is so true that prayer is refreshing. I am always amazed when people say they don't have time to pray. What they are missing in even just a few minutes.
Thanks for this one, DG and God bless.

This was really beautiful. I just finished reading a book you might like that deals with God's gifts. It is Wrapped Up: God's Ten Gifts for Women http://www.teresatomeo.com/Books-And-Media/ and I found it helpful to see the gifts God has for us. Not just beauty, but also our friends, His forgiveness and love. Really simple, but I found it helpful, especially seeing how the Old Testament women accepted God's gifts. They are there for us, we only have to take them.
