The Song of Trust

"Behold, I send you out as sheep in the midst of wolves; so be shrewd as serpents and innocent as doves. Matthew 10:16

I hear your words, and I take them to heart.

Like a loving parent, you have taken me under your wing and taught me,

You have prepared me for the journey that lies ahead.

Though my sin is heavy before me, and my weakness is more than I can bear,

I trust in your mercy……your mercy is what I cling to… it shall be my strength in the days to come.

And when I stand before those that hold me in contempt, it will be your face that I see, not theirs, it will be your voice that I hear, not theirs.

Your love is all I need and your promises are truth and I shall sing your praises all the days of my life.

Beautiful, DG. Clinging to God's mercy is a huge part of our journeys- without it we would not be able to stand our own selves and all this world throws at us.
Thanks and God bless.

Beautiful, and so true. Also, "You will be hated by all because of my name, but whoever endures to the end will be saved."

Just Beautiful Daily Grace,
It is the same today as it was then. As it was in the beginning, is now, and shall ever be, God's people will be sent out as sheep in the midst of wolves. But if God is with us, then there is nothing to fear.

Amen to that Kam! God be with you.

DG,
What a beautiful prayer! I cling to His mercy, too. Without God we are truly wretched (or at least I was). I am still filled with all kinds of petty faults and am totally dependant on His grace.
