May Love Flow From Your Heart

Christ has no body now on earth but yours,

no hands but yours,

no feet but yours,

yours are the eyes through which Christ's compassion

is to look out to the earth,

yours are the feet by which He is to go about doing good

and yours are the hands by which He is to bless us now.

St Teresa of Avila

"You have heard that it was said, 'You shall love your neighbor and hate your enemy.'

But I say to you, love your enemies, and pray for those who persecute you,
that you may be children of your heavenly Father, for he makes his sun rise on the bad and the good, and causes rain to fall on the just and the unjust. (Matthew 5: 43-45)

"Dear Children! This time also I am inviting you to prayer. Pray that you might be able to comprehend what God desires to tell you through my presence and through the messages I am giving you. I desire to draw you ever closer to Jesus and to His wounded heart that you might be able to comprehend the immeasurable love which gave itself for each one of you. Therefore, dear children, pray that from your heart would flow a fountain of love to every person both to the one who hates you and to the one who despises you. That way you will be able through Jesus' love to overcome all the misery in this world of sorrows, which is without hope for those who do not know Jesus. I am with you and I love you with the immeasurable love of Jesus. Thank you for all your sacrifices and prayers. Pray so I might be able to help you still more. Your prayers are necessary to me. Thank you for having responded to my call." BVM 11-25-91 Monthly Message, Medjugore

May the love and mercy of our risen Lord  Jesus Christ flow from our hearts today touching all those we come in contact with, even to the most difficult.  In His Name, Amen.

I've always loved that quote by Teresa of Avila. I think it's a powerful reminder of the role each of us is called to play in the world that is ours.

Three of my favorite, a scripture quote, the messages from Medjugorje and that prayer by Teresa of Avila. I send that prayer to my kids' teachers at the end of each school year with a thank you.

I used the BVM quote today on my facebook page. I've read it 4 or 5 times already and seem to get something different from it each time. She is asking, just as her Son asked, that we love everyone, to not hate anyone, to not answer anger with more anger. This is all so hard! If we're surrounded by people we love then it's easier, not easy, just easier. But out in the workplace, with people you've worked with day in and day out, your whole life almost, people who don't care for you, whom you don't see eye to eye with, for whatever reason, those are the people we're asked to love, to show our love, to pray for from the heart. This in itself is a lifetime road.

KAM, how funny that you posted this on your facebook page today because I did the same thing! My daughter's response was similar to yours, with some people being so difficult to love and much more challenging than others. I prayed on the way to work today for all the difficult relationships I might encounter, that I may be the hands, the feet, the compassion of our Lord. It is truly a hard one I agree.

Blessings to you and H

I love when we receive rationale along with truth, revealing why truth makes such exquisite sense. Like this: "That way you will be able through Jesus' love to overcome all the misery in this world of sorrows."

I'm grateful to read all of these pieces within context one to the other; and admiring of what you've done with this post :) .

How nice to find your post with the wonderful quote, scripture, and prayer! It's a good reminder that we need to continue the work of Jesus in the world, loving and helping others.

What I love here is the picture! I am reading "Surrender to Divine Providence" and this picture is on the book cover. It is so gorgeous!

If love were easy, where would be the merit in it? He showed us the supreme difficulty in loving those who are so hard to love. His Mother showed how to love people who hate those most precious to us. I still haven't learned to do either. Thank you for more 'booster shots' to enable me to keep on trying to do what so often feels impossible ... what would be impossible without His Daily Grace!

God bless you!

Thank you Connie :)

Anne, I try to "Surrender to Divine Providence" a little more each day. Somedays I am better at it than other days ;)

booklady,

You always hit the nail on the head! If love were easy, where would be the merit in it? And, thank you for that little play on words, it made me smile!

Peace to you!
