I Saw Him Today

He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Matthew 16:15

You are the eyes that notice me,
You  are ears that hear my inner plea.
You are the heart of compassion,
With mercy tender.

You are the arms stretched toward me,
That hold me in my fear.

You are the smile that greets me,
The hope that sustains.
You are thanksgiving pure.

"You are the Messiah, the Son of the living God." Matthew 16: 16

 Grace shared by others:

I saw Him today in a mother at our local swimming pool who was assisting her grown disabled son into the swimming pool. I'm not sure if he was born with a disability or had an accident later on, but she was one devoted mama. She lifted her son who was bigger than herself, out of his wheelchair to sit on the side of the pool. He was unable to move his legs or his arms yet he was able to grip the ladder with his hands.

She then got in the water and lifted him down into the water and swam him around like you would a toddler who was just learning to swim.

The joy on the young man's face was priceless and as I watched them interact, there was a deep love between them. She didn't look exhausted or bothered... she smiled and talked happily with him for a long time. It warmed my heart! ~

That story brough tears to my eyes and captures the true since of love, which is beyond a mere feeling or emotion, it is deeper than that. What a committed mother and good example. Thanks for sharing.

Thank you for sharing my story on your blog! It was incredibly moving to watch. The mother and son were in the pool for over 1 1/2 hours with her pulling her son from one end to the other... chatting the whole time. It was clear how much they were enjoying their time together.

Yes, a truly beautiful story. We so often see Jesus in our everyday lives, a simple act of kindness, a gesture of love, nothing extreme, just everyday people living extradordinary lives of holiness.

Daily Grace, that is a great posting. Jesus does open our eyes, through other people and the love that they share for each other. Peace , St. Raphael
